Corporate Chic: Floral Peplum

Happy Monday!!!

Hoping everyone had a Blessed weekend. My weekend was pretty relaxing, too relaxing actually. I planned to clean the house from top to bottom, turn my closet over from winter to summer, and bust out a couple of youtube videos...ask me how many of those things I actually did? Not nair single one...Oh well, there's always next weekend. :-) Anywho, this was my work look for the day. Hope you Enjoy! XOXO
I had some slight hesitation on whether to wear the above shoes or not, due to the black straps with the navy skirt. Is pairing navy and black a fashion faux pas? What do you ladies think?
So, I also have been pretty unhappy with my hair as of lately. It just doesn't curl right...the products I'm using make my hair look straggly and frizzy. So in desperate need to have my tight springy curls back, I decided to try the Shea Mopisture line. These are the Results....Yeah, the search continues...not a fan of the outcome at all :-(

What I Am Wearing:
Floral Peplum Top-H&M
Navy Blue Pencil Skirt-Thrifted
Sandals-Zara
Bracelet-Loehman's
Ring-Etsy
Earrings-Diamond Studs

As Always, THANKS for stopping by! XOXO

  12. I just wore those shoes on Sunday! LOVE them! This whole outfit is fabulous! Questions.. Did you clarify your hair? Have you done deep conditioning. I realized that by doing deep conditioning once a week and clarifying once a once has helped tremendously with my hair. I do admit though I have never had such volume ever. Its a bit out there but my curls have never been so defined since… well… I can't remember. Hopefully you can figure out what is going on with your fabulous curls. I know the feeling!

    1. Hi Nina!

I did clarify and deep condition but I am thinking maybe I'm not deep conditioning long enough. I normally deep condition for about a half hour but as of lately it's been about ten minutes...due to time constraints. When you deep conditioner do you use a steamer?

    2. I just bought the steamer and its sitting on my dinner table. I am super excited to use it today. I am hoping for good result. Last week I had done deep conditioning and for some reason didn't have time to wash it out ( maybe 4 kids could explain that :] ) but the next day ran to Costco (kept it up in a high bun) and then rinsed it out when I got home. It felt nice and soft! I might leave my hair over night when I deep condition… But will try the steamer today and see those results.

Do you have one? If so, do you like it? If not, I will let you know how it works for me.

Side not… that Jane nourishing creme was horror in my hair. It made it dry and just awful. That one didn't work for me:'( But everything else has been great that you've recommended. Im a Kinky curl and shea natural addict! Thanks again for the great recommendations!

    3. Aww I'm sorry the Jane Carter didn't work out for you :-( However, I am glad the other products did though! No, I do not curerntly use a steamer but I am heavily considering purcashing one. I watched a couple of my favorite youtuber hair guru's who say they absolutely love it but I am still on the fence regarding if I want to purchase one or not. I am curious to know how it will work out for you, so please keep me posted on the results. I also think I am going to try leaving the conditioner in over night and washing it on in the a.m. and see how that works for me. Thanks for the tip! Also, what shampoo did you end up using to clarify?

    4. Hello pretty lady! I am loving all your outfits! I used the steamer and love it. To be honest though I kinda sorta didn't notice much difference in my hair. But my sister and her hubby surprised us on the weekend and she has had heat damage and is trying to go natural. I did a protein treatment on her hair then did a deep conditioning and put her under the steamer. Now you can tell a huge difference in her hair. The shine and softness. AMAZING!

As for the clarifying.. I haven't bought a new one yet. I will be clarifying this weekend and so I am heading to target today to see what I can find :-) Will let you know.

take care girly! And keep them outfits coming :-)
