Kaboom!

Happy Sunday!!!

I typically draw style inspiration from any and everywhere!! It could be a piece of furniture, outdoor scenery, magazines, candy, etc...anything! Well, this morning as I was in the shower preparing for church and pondering on what to wear, I glanced at a bottle of Kaboom shower cleaner and KABOOM!!!!...an outfit was born! Here was my look for church today. The message today was about spiritual development and knowing that God's grace is sufficient through everything we may encounter in life. Wishing everyone a blessed week!

This is the bottle that inspired the above look.
Where do you draw your style inspiration from?

Wedding Wednesday: Bridesmaid Dresses- Part II

Greetings All!!!!

As some of you already know, I did find "the one"! :-) I can't reveal which one it is just yet. However, the story behind finding the one is a little interesting. After trying on many dresses, all of them are not pictured. I was getting ready to leave the bridal store and felt a little defeated because I started to beleive I would never find the one and may have to result in having my bridesmaid dresses made. As we began to head out of the store, the bridal consultant asked, exactly what I was looking for. So, I told her what I wanted. So, within two minutes she approached my bridesmaid and I with a dress that we both COMPLETELY looked over. We both looked at each other with the "What in the world?!" face thinking, "No way". However, I still tried it on because the bridal consultant went through the trouble of getting it and I figured what harm could it do?! I also have learned through my search you can't judge a dress from a hanger, you must try it on to get a real feel for it! Well, once I had it on, I loved it! I plan to accessorize it to make it my own but overall, I am very happy with my choice and that the search is over :-)  All of my girls, love the dress too, so that was important to me, as well. (It's a little pic heavy).

Dress #10-The designer on this beauty is Enzoani. I love the bedazzled belt and the upper portion of this dress. I do feel like the bottom has too much fabric. I like the draping but the fabric seems a little excessive to me, I don't know. However, it's technically not a bridesmaids dress, it's a mother of the bride dress. I love it though.
Dress #11-One of my bridesmaids finally joined me on my search! I'm not sure who the designer is. I liked the dress on the hanger but not on. The dress looks a little matronly to me. I did like the angled bust and the mini blinged brooch.
This is Dress #12-The designer is Saison Blanche. I think this dress has a great silhouette and surprisingly, I really adore the large bow. I felt it gave the dress a little character. However, others( I will not call any names) said it was very obnoxious..lol! I also really like that this dress comes in a vast selection of colors.
Dress #13-I think this dress is very Audrey Hepburn, so I had to try it on. This dress is a nice elegant choice but I also think it's a little ordinary. It's a lovely dress but not quite the look I am going for.  (Excuse the pose, I was holding up the dress because it was a lil too big).
Dress #14-The designer of this dress is Bari Jay. I actually liked this dress for the most part but I wasn't a fan of the random flap hanging from the bust area. The fabric was pretty good quality. However, it is a little thick for a summer wedding and I don't want my girls passing out on me.

Dress #15- The designer of this dress is Alfred Angelo. I loved this dress. I love the silhouette and the array of colors it comes in. I wasn't a fan of the corset back, it looks nice but it would be a little time consuming to put on. I was also indifferent about the angled flap but overall, this was one of my fav's!
Dress #16 -The designer is Camille La Vie.  This dress looked like it had potential online but in person it was a totally different story. In short, it's cheap and the fabric was soooo flimsy. As you can see in the photo, the dress was literally falling apart..NO BUENO!
I was so in love with that bow...it's so fabulous :-)

Well, that was my looong bridesmaid dress search journey! Thanks for stopping by and for all of your feedback! XOXO

Stay Tuned for the next segment of Wedding Wednesday :-)

Hello to all of my readers and fellow bloggers! I have some exciting news.....I was featured in October's issue of Instyle!!! WOOT! WOOT! I am so psyched about it! Such a blessing......that sums it up for me.

I took the pic with my cell phone in poor lighting, so apologies for the quality.

Well, this was my work look for today. It was raining on and off all day long and I thought I might be able to sneak outside for five minutes to snap some quick photos but the rain wouldn't let up. In result, I took indoor photos.

Wedding Wednesday: Bridesmaids Dresses- Part I

Hello All!

So, as most of you know, I am getting married next year. Wedding planning is starting to consume a great portion of my life, so I thought I'd share my experiences :-) I was inspired to start the "Wedding Wednesday" by a fellow blogger, I am Khatu. Love her style, her blog and reading about her wedding experiences. I believe she just recently wed her hubby, so CONGRATS to her!

Well.....I thought long and hard of what my first wedding Wednesday should be about and since I went on and on in one of my past posts about the "impossible" bridesmaid dress search, I figured I'd share my journey with you. I was so particular about what I wanted in a bridesmaid dress that most of the time I chose to go by myself. I didn't want to interrupt anyone's schedule and I am so indecisive, it just made sense for me to go alone.

Side Note: Please keep in mind, I am not what's considered "sample size", so some of these dresses may be a little ill-fitted. :-) Also, the colors you see are not my colors, just the color the samples come in.

So, it begins.....

Dress #1-I believe the designer is Lazaro. Initially, I really liked this dress but the more and more I looked at it, I started to think it was a little too trendy. I was afraid that in a couple of years I would look back on my pictures and think "What the heck was I thinking?!" Also, the colors this dress comes in are very limited which was another issue for me.
Dress #2-Designer is Jim Hjelm. I thought this dress was pretty cool. However, I have girls all shapes and sizes in my bridal party and I wasn't sure it would be flattering on everyone and again the colors are limited with this dress, as well.
Dress#3-The designer of this dress is Enzoani from the Love Collection. This dress was ok, I wasn't in love with it.
Dress #4-The designer of this dress is Jim Hjelm. As simple as this dress is, I actually really liked it. It was one of my fav's out of all the ones I tried on, this particular day. I think this dress can definitely be accessorized to give it that glam factor. However, I wasn't a fan of the price for such a simple dress.
Dress #5-I do not recall who the designer is on this dress. I liked the silhouette but wasn't a fan of the belt that comes with the dress.
Well, that was the start of my bridesmaid dress hunt and there is definitely more to come, so please stay tuned :-)

Happy Wednesday!
